maquxianIntroduction:Introduction to Maqu: Maqu County belongs to Gansu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province, in the southwest of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province, at the eastern end of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, at the junction of Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan, and the first bend of the Yellow River. Maqu County is 10,190 square kilometers with a population of 54,900 (2011), of which Tibetans account for two-thirds and the average elevation is 3,700 meters. Maqugu belongs to the Yi area. After the Tubo unified the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in 663 AD, it became a nomadic place for Tibetans. In 2011, Maqu County achieved a regional GDP (GDP) of 115.28 million yuan, calculated at comparable prices, an increase of 5.5% over 2010.
