It is at the foot of Taibai Mountain, the main peak of Qinling Mountain. It is a trans-river in the north of the Qinling Mountains. It is a “seven rivers and nine originals”. The geomorphic features of the slope, the six mountains, one water and three fields. The historical and cultural heritage of Meixian County is one of the birthplaces of Western Zhou culture. The Western Zhou Dynasty bronze wares, the Warring States bells and other national treasures were unearthed in the territory. The 27 Western Zhou bronze wares unearthed in 2003 were praised as one of the major archaeological discoveries of the 21st century. Meixian also nurtured a generation of historical celebrities such as the predecessor of the Qin Dynasty, the three kingdoms of the Han Dynasty, the Zhengzheng, the Tang Dynasty medical scientist Wang Wei, the Song agent Zhang Zai, the republican general Li Da and so on. The soil in Mei County is fertile, the climate is humid, and the products are rich. There are flowers in the first three seasons and fruit in the four seasons. As of 2011, the county has planted 270,000 mu of kiwifruit, which is the national kiwifruit standardized production demonstration zone. The kiwifruit national geographical indication has passed the certification of the Ministry of Agriculture. It has won the honorary titles of “Top Ten Counties in China's Fruit and Vegetable Standardization Construction” and “China Kiwifruit Pollution-free Technology Demonstration County”, and was awarded “Model County for County and Industry Construction” and “Advanced County for Fruit Industry”. As of 2012, the county's 863 square kilometers, ranking the 80th in the province, including 374,668 acres of agricultural land, the county governs 8 towns and 123 villages. On August 9, 2014, with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, it was agreed to set up the Meixian Provincial Economic Development Zone, which belongs to Baoji City and enjoys the preferential treatment of the provincial development zone.
