wuyishanshiIntroduction:Wuyishan Introduction: Wuyishan City is located in the northwest of Fujian Province. It is connected to Pucheng in the east, Jianyang in the south, luster in the west, and close to the lead mountain county in Jiangxi Province in the north. The east and west are 70 kilometers wide and 72.5 kilometers long from north to south. The junction of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, belonging to the mid-subtropical region, is the only emerging tourist city named after the famous mountain in Fujian Province. Wuyishan has a long history. According to archaeological data, ancestors have lived in the territory nearly 4,000 years ago. Formerly known as Chong'an County, it was built in the Northern Song Dynasty for five years (AD 994). On March 1, 1985, Chong'an County was approved by the State Council as the first batch of open cities and counties in China. In August 1989, the State Council approved the withdrawal of the county to establish a city. Wuyishan City is 2813 square kilometers, with 230,400 people (2010). It consists of 3 towns, 4 townships, 3 streets, 4 agricultural tea farms and 115 villages. In December 1999, it was approved by UNESCO to be included in the World Heritage List, becoming one of the fourth places in China and 23 of the world's “double heritage” of world culture and nature. In December 2013, Wuyishan was selected as one of the top 100 tourism competitiveness counties in 2013.
