It is located in the southeast of Kunming Main City, on the north bank of Dianchi Lake, east to Yiliang County, south to Chenggong County, northeast to Yuming County, and southwest to Dianchi Lake. The northwest is connected to the Panlong District and the west is connected to the Xishan District. It is 40.5 kilometers wide from east to west, 39 kilometers long from north to south, and 634.95 square kilometers (including some waters in Dianchi Lake) in Guandu District.
